Today the CeBiT was opened for visitors. We as MiniTechNet went on a journey and arrived in Hannover just about afternoon. The first day of the biggest computer exibition was peaceful and comfortable. The big crowd is yet to come. |

This year Shuttle Computer presents its 700 square meter exibition booth in hall 25. The Shuttle Gaming Area where players fight their duels every day has grown bigger since last year. Unfortunately there is not much new to see in the booth. Only the new Media Center PC with Intel Pentium M CPU and the ST20G5 with Ati Radeon Xpress 200 Chipset are preseted to the brought public. Behind the scenes we could take a look at two new Shuttle XPCs and the new Shuttle TFT. Because of market strategical reasons we are not supposed to talk about the details here. Concearning one of this Barebones (for Pentium 4) we will give away the specifications in a few days, concearning the other model we only mention that it is for AMD processors, so far.. Both models are already functional, even though they are not ready for the manufacturing in series yet.

The english case manufacturer Hoojum was for the first time on the CeBiT represented and just behind the Shuttle booth.Hoojum (formerly Netbox) has made its name famous for aluminiumcases for Mini-ITX Mainboards some years ago. Meanwhile the Cubit has reached the third generation and one version can even implement the components of Shuttle XPCs .. for all who are looking for a offbeat casing.

Late at night a whole bunch of interresting notebooks stood out at the booth of Nexoc, who let most of them be produced by Klevo and are offering them as Barebones. Most interresting is the 12" notebook which is sold for about 750EUR (750USD) incl. Tax (Intel Celeron M 1,5GHz, 255MB Ram, 20GB HDD).

The corean manufacturer Maicom presents on his exibition booth a playful but astonishing MP3 player with integrated speakers. Also new is a videoplayer, that is unfortunately not available as a sample.

By chance we have seen a man playing with an amusement mashine. Even though we have generally never been interested in playstations this one caught our attention. We have heard about Gizmodno, but we didn't know much. Anyway this console seemes to be a little wonder. Integarted nVidia 3D graphic for XBox converted games, Mp3 Player, Videoplayer, Messaging, Bluetooth, GPS Navigationsystem and camera in one uni with the size of a Nokia N-Gage. The Gizmondo team could convince us skeptics, that this unit is absolutely competetive with the coming Playstation PSP. Sales will begin with the 19th of march in england, followed by the USA and finally the german speaking area for about 349EUR (350USD).

At our Tech-Partner Memorysolution was today party night. For the inauguration of the CeBIT Memorysolution has ensured a good atmosphere with three female Salsa/Lation dancers.
